Cool BJii/WinMo App of the Day - SMS Bubbles

If you have Windows Mobile 6.1 running on your BlackJack II (BJii), you will notice that there are some significant changes to how you view your SMS messages.

First, instead of seeing each message listed individually, you now see a list of senders and clicking into them will show you the entire conversation history between the two of you. There are mixed feelings out there about this "conversation" view (I love it) but for whatever reason, Microsoft did not give us the option to choose which view to use so if you don't love it you're out of luck unless you downgrade back to 6.0. There is a hack to switch back to the classic view for those who MUST have it but as with all hacks use at your own risk ;-)!

The second change is that you no longer get a balloon telling you when a message has arrived. All you get is the audio notification and an envelop icon at the top of your screen. From there you have to go into your Messages screen to see what the text said. Fortunately, today's cool app gives us a nicer solution that the hack for the previous issue. SMS Bubbles is a little program that alerts you of incoming SMS messages via a bubble that pops up on your home screen. The bubble shows you the senders name and message with options to save it as read or delete the message all from the comfort of your home screen!

I found this cool app on one of my favorite websites, myblackjack2.com, so all the credit goes to David for finding it. The screen shot and link for SMS Bubbles above will take you to his post for the download. While you're there, browse around and subscribe to his feed - it won't disappoint! =)
