Cool BJii/WinMo App of the Day - Windows Mobile 6.1

Ok, ok, it's not actually an "app," it's a OS update but it's still pretty cool because:

1. It gives you the cool "sliders" display option
2. Conversation/IM-style view for text messages
3. Unlocks features like Internet Sharing or using GPS in free apps like Live Search which was locked in previous versions of WinMo
4. Plays AAC/MP4 aka iTunes files natively

I've blogged about #1-3 in previous posts but I JUST discovered #4 today because I got a gift card to iTunes. When I was browsing for songs I was extremely bummed to be reminded that all songs downloaded from iTunes are in the AAC format. So, I was looking for a good ACC to MP3 converter (still am) when I found this post on solsie.com stating that 6.1 played AAC files natively. I quickly sent a song over to my phone and voila it really played!

By the way, I'm still looking for a good AAC > mp3 converter for macs so if you've got a suggestion, please leave a comment below. Thanks!
