I've been searching for the perfect twitter app for some time now. I've often described it as being TweetDeck + Twhirl's multi-account support. Well, this week the makers of Twhirl released Seesmic Desktop which is exactly that. It combines the deck views and groups (called User Lists) of TweetDeck with the multi-account support of Twhirl!

I've been using Seesmic for a few days now and am loving it. It's still in it's "preview" or first release so some of the "icing" features that I like in TweetDeck (i.e. translate, tweetshrink, facebook integration) are still missing and adding users to the user lists is way too tedious - you have to add them one by one instead of from a checklist like TD. However, the fact that it's core features gives me everything I've asked for has made me switch to Seesmic permanently and I'm confident that the icing features will follow in future updates. To get your copy of Seesmic Desktop's preview release, fill out the form on http://desktop.seesmic.com/ and a download link gets emailed to you.
To make my Twitter app search even better, I've also found a new Windows Mobile client that supports multi-accounts in a nice, slick interface as well: PockeTwit. I'm still getting used to it because I've been using Tiny Twitter for so long but it's definitely a must try. So a BIG thanks you to Brian who turned me onto PockeTwit in his comment on my post about Tiny Twitter! It's been a good week Twitter app-wise for me ...
On another note, I'm still giving away a pink Speck SeeThru hard shell case and Ceedo Personal on my other posts so feel free to leave me a comment here or on those!
